Waitlist data
Privacy notice
This notice covers the email form on PawScout.xyz. It does not describe the future desktop product or account service.
What we collect
When the waitlist form is submitted, PawScout stores the normalized email address, the exact displayed consent wording and its server-assigned version, submission source, consent and creation timestamps, and a retention deadline. The form does not prove that the submitter controls the address, so this remains an unverified form submission unless the address holder later confirms it. The waitlist database does not store your IP address. To prevent abuse, the application temporarily keeps keyed rate-limit selectors derived from the IP address and, for a non-honeypot submission, from the IP-address-and-email combination. They are pruned from process memory after their limit window on subsequent limiter activity, or sooner when the process restarts. The application server's HTTP access log is disabled. The TLS proxy and hosting provider still receive your IP address to deliver and secure the request and may record it in restricted operational or security logs under their configured retention.
Why we use it
We use the unverified submission only to prepare the PawScout launch list. Before any launch message is sent, the selected email-delivery process must confirm control of the address; an unconfirmed form submission is not treated as proof that the address holder requested email. A confirmed address will receive at most one PawScout public-launch notification, with an immediate unsubscribe option. We do not sell the address, use it for unrelated newsletters, or place third-party analytics cookies on this landing page.
Retention
The current absolute waitlist deadline is 730 days after submission. A record is scheduled for deletion at that deadline or, when a launch notification is sent earlier, no later than 90 days after the notification. A withdrawn record is retained only until the applicable deadline to prevent another send. Any separate confirmation or suppression data used by the future delivery provider must be described here before that provider is activated.
Processors and transfers
The infrastructure provider hosting PawScout.xyz and its encrypted backups may process the waitlist data on our behalf. Before launch, this notice will name any email-delivery provider used to send the notification and describe any applicable international transfer safeguards.
Your choices
You may ask whether your address is on the waitlist, request correction or deletion, or withdraw your request at any time by emailing privacy@pawscout.xyz. Requests may require verification that you control the address.
